Europan 5 a choisi les délaissés urbains des villes européennes et leur croisement avec les réseaux de déplacement comme champ d’investigation. Le développement des villes européennes dans les cinquante dernières années a entraîné la consommation de grands territoires périphériques pour implanter les nouvelles zones et leurs infrastructures. Des périphéries se sont composées à partir des lignes de déplacement et des fragments bâtis. Dans l’entre-deux ont subsisté des espaces non ou faiblement affectés. En même temps la ville laissait en jachère des emprises foncières aux fonctions obsolètes. De quoi faire surgir une ville en creux composée des laissés pour compte de l’urbanisation extensive

Museum Of World Culture - Göteborg
General focus: The museum performs as a center for knowledge and resources with emphasis on mankind and her achievements. It will present the multi-cultural society's cultural heritage from different points of view and shed light on cultural ties with time and space. Through the creative capacity of man, the museum will inspire experience and creativity. As an open meeting place for a variety of different cultural interests, the museum will attempt to bridge gaps between generations, cultures and those with different areas of experience in order to create a forum for debates focusing on cultural meetings and people's situations.
Plan masse s'appuyant sur le tracé urbain et le projet de prolongation du parvis par un jardin intérieur public, quelques éléments du programme prennant opportunément accroche sur le relief. Répartition utilisée en créant la grande salle d'expo en suspension "l'Altchéringa": titre du projet. Confrontation inévitable entre la société du spectacle et le "spectacle" du monde aux origines.
CYBORG CITY : A mechanical / artificial island for New-york Archipelago- 1998

This cyborg city is a concrete structure. The fragment of the primary grid is made by the virtual streets extensions beyond Red Hook Channel and Bay Ridge Channel. The system is deformed in slope ( while the plan stay a grid ) and oriented to the south.
It could be described as a flotting “mega-structure” based on the generic grid of New-york city, that will receive onto the vertical sides a new type of 3 dimensional buildings ( sky crapers / sea-crapers / street&ground-crapers ).
In a sense, it is retrograde ( Louis Boullé’s architecture? ) and “retro-garde” ( if we think about researchs made in 60’s and 70’s by some radical architectural groups ).
Virtual not appears in this case in a high-end formal and performing design , but as a part of the human condition. This project could welcome schools, hospitals, places of leisures, research centers... so as to nurse the wounds of people destined to dissepear or to be reduced in slavery. the project is a stealth project ; the facts that pass undetected : economical world order / perception of the Other. Horse of Troy or Noé ark?It was a question at the opening of a new millennium . It some ways was inspirited by Louis Marin’s thesis that define: “Utopia is a ideologic critic of ideologie” (Louis Marin, Utopiques: jeux d'espaces, les Editions de Minuit, 1973)

Annonce: In reponding to the radical changes in every aspect of contemporary life, cities undergo new types of transformations and expansions. Events, such as the information age, the revolutions in telecommunications, the fall ofthe Berlin wall and the Europian Unification, have lead to the globalization of economies and define a post capitalist era in which the state has been superceeded either by the municipality or by the corporation. Architects are called work with the spatial events that these conditions create and to introduce their positions-proposals within a matrix of rapidly evolving relationships and scales. Within the city structure, we can trace various interacting forces which are responsible for both dynamic urban phenomena and non-linear spatial relationships. Today, can we claim the singularity of the urban form? Master planning is obsolete, streets are developing their own presence day after day and city lots have become battlefields of developmental forces. The public building of the past (movie theater, post office, etc.) is no longer a landmark of urban inhabitation. Here now the subject is man, a resident-civilian meandering, penetrating urban thresholds and charting the new city
